Seriously.

-4F when I woke up with a wind chill of -18F. I mean, it's a balmy -1F now and I'm at work where, for the first time in three years, I won a garage pass in our semi-annual drawing!

Oh my goodness it was useful today.

Kinja'd!!!

Freeze all the things!

I recently fixed the glow plug system on my diesel and installed a block heater... so of course it was the battery that wasn't feeling good this morning. Of course.

My pipes were frozen today so I'm working from home. Still have no water and it's a lovely -8 with a wind chill of about -15.

I just want to brush my damn teeth!!!

Dang! That was a concern I had for my family. Fortunately for me I'm in a large apartment building. Good luck

My advice is when it's going to be below a certain temperature (at our house, it's -20 Celsius), run some water in order to prevent the pipes from freezing. Last year, we couldn't use our kitchen sink or dishwasher for a week because of frozen pipes.

Unfortunately, this'll probably not work if every pipe in your house is frozen.

My issue was that the townhome I'm in is empty on the other half and they ripped out most of the walls while they're renovating it. So, that's what caused it.

It's fixed now and thankfully they put a space heater in there at night for me so it won't happen again (hopefully). But yeah, I've heard of the water thing. I'm going to do that as well, just in case.
